Enabling creatives by giving them outlets to direct their passion outside the main stream.
Too many creatives feel it’s hard to take root in Iowa and get the support they need to expand their music careers. We here at “Iowa Undgnd” seek to change that by building a new music culture through grassroots effort in the underground. This effort includes but is not limited to targeting college towns by bringing a consistent flow of young people into a culture of local artistry support through the engaging nature of intimate venues.
We’ve started with “The Rabbit Hole”, a 50-person capacity DIY basement venue located in Des Moines, Iowa (2019-2021) as our initial proof of concept. Hosting a variety of genres from DJ’s, Rap artists and live bands, “The Rabbit Hole’s” unique venue provided a more personal and intimate experience that often gets people interested and involved that otherwise would usually shy away.
2022 VISION
Outward Expansion
Now we are expanding by establishing a network of collaborators and surrogate destination venue locations to increase our available foot traffic and give a special sanctuary to emerging artists. This will enable the artists to transform their passion, take root and cultivate personal artist to fan relations which will become the bedrock for better music, as well as a better creative and artistic culture to emerge. We are leasing acreage in Tama County, Iowa to further build this vision, a venue dubbed The Underground Ranch.
